Artist's Comments

It's so easy to get caught up in life and what you are doing. Sometimes we all need to take a moment to look deeper into a subject to try and understand it.

Pure water (solely hydrogen and oxygen atoms) has a neutral pH of 7, which is neither acidic nor basic.

Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Wherever it travels, water carries chemicals, minerals, and nutrients with it.

The earth is a closed system, similar to a terrarium, meaning that it rarely loses or gains extra matter. The same water that existed on the earth millions of years ago is still present today.

97% of the world’s water is held in the oceans
2% is frozen in the polar ice caps
Just 1% provides the water we use
This tiny percentage includes all the lakes and rivers, the water in the atmosphere and the water in the ground.

It is also said that there are more molecules in a glass of water than there are glasses of water in the sea!!

With all that said please enjoy viewing this deviation... and appreciate some of the things that you cannot see in it.

:)

This was shot using the Canon 60mm Macro. I managed to borrow it from a friend last year.

I just recently got my own 50mm Canon macro and i'm very impressed. The quality of the lens is as good as the 60mm. . .it just doesn't get quite as close. Something that can always be solved with a set of extension tubes tho :)

Awesome! Looks like I made the right choice of lens! :D I bought a 60 mm Canon Macro lens a few weeks ago. Do you have any tips? Cuse I suck at it xD I'm kinda wondering a bit on what kind of set up you have when you take photos.. as in the studio part. Do you have different single colored backgrounds that you use? Or what kind of light source do you use etc :P

You definately have yourself a great lens there!

First things first. .
Experiment Experiment Experiment! :D

It's the only way to get the most from any lens really.

This lens gives the best results imo at around f/3.5-4. The bokeh is wonderful at f/2.8 but the images just aren't quite as crisp. I always shoot on a tripod with a cable release, and i always have the mirror lockup function enabled.

My "studio" is anywhere the natural light is falling right. In some circumstances a LED torch or 2 can always substitute but that really depends on the subject. I have a big collection of backgrounds but i'm always on the look out for more, you never know what you need till you dont have it ;)

This particular shot was lit with a single LED torch and the background was a simple sheet of white paper.

I hope this helps?
:)
