Artist's Comments

This is a pic i captured ages ago. I have been playing around with it and this is what i came up with. I thought i'd share the main parts of the technique i used and see if it helps anyone out :D

The rose was originally pink and bought from a local florists. I sprayed it with water using a spray bottle and added the larger drop using an old eyedropper bottle. Then i placed it next to a window with a good amount of diffused natural daylight coming through. Finally i used a very makeshift reflector ( tin foil taped to a piece of card :p) to bounce some light back from the other side.

I shot this in raw with a Canon 350d and the "kit" 18-55mm lens. I used lightroom to do the raw conversion and then used a few layers in photoshop to create the ice effect.

As always enjoy
:D

The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to talk, mad to live, mad to be saved, who burn, burn, burn like fabulous roman candles and in the middle you see the blue light and we all go 'Aw'.--Kerouac
