Delicate by Nature

I've gone for a totally different feel with this image and i would appreciate your comments/criticism as to whether i pulled it off or not!?

I took the shot in raw using a canon 350d & "kit" 18-55mm lens with a +3 hoya close up filter.

I placed the rose next to a window with some diffused daylight coming in and using a reflector i bounced some natural light onto the other side.
Camera was mounted on a tripod and i fired the shutter using a cable release.

Raw conversion was done in lightroom, with the other changes done in photoshop.

To create this effect in photoshop i added a hue/saturation layer to deepen & desaturate the colour of the rose. Then i used the dodge tool around the edges to give a vignette feel.
